PCL’s partnership with EMBERS Staffing shows that dedication to excellence in construction and a genuine commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of individuals within our community can coincide. 

We recently visited Darwin’s Lonsdale Square projects in North Vancouver. EMBERS Staffing has placed 100+ workers on the multi-site project over the past couple of years. The project consists of a 113 unit purpose-built rental building developed by Darwin Properties and Minto Apartments and a seniors community care facility for Sunrise Senior Living, spanning 82,019 square feet and comprising of 100 units. 

We are so grateful to the entire EllisDon team for recognizing the power of working together to create inclusive work opportunities and lasting community impact. Some EMBERS Staffing workers have converted to full-time EllisDon employees.

What happens when a non-profit organization committed to helping people find work teams up with one of Canada’s best crane training companies? Something amazing. EMBERS Staffing Solutions has been on the ground since early stages of this landmark project, supporting job seekers and community members through inclusive, meaningful employment. This milestone isn’t just a number: it’s a powerful example of how community benefit agreements (CBAs) and social procurement create lasting, local change.

What began 15 years ago as a small fundraiser has grown into a flagship event that brings together over 150 golfers, industry professionals, and community champions. And this year was no exception; it was our biggest and most impactful tournament yet.
